Earth Angels Unite #5: Healing the Forests, Saving the Trees

I’ve been hiking for a long time.  For a while, I hiked a BLM road, but the clear-cutting was so devastating that the trail lost its charm.  It had been a road surrounded by forests for several miles.  I had hiked it for well over an hour before turning back, enjoying watching the baby trees planted by their mothers.  They had clear-cut several sections in an unsustainable way.  The trail became unpleasant, empty, and barren.

Fortunately, I met some other hikers who were hiking nearby on a privately owned logging road, the forests not yet desiccated.  A creek borders this road, and at one point there’s a small waterfall.  The days of beautiful tree-lined hikes were numbered.

For those of you who’ve been reading regularly, you know that since the untimely death of my son, my psychic gifts have been increasing.  I achieve results with the elements of wind and water.  Perhaps fire and earth are coming.

When I hiked this logging road a year ago, they had clear-cut a section near the beginning of the hike.  An acre or two had been completely cleared; this side of the hill was barren, with piles of smoldering logs and branches burned to ash.  I found that as I hiked that section, I felt an intense sadness, like when my son died.  I couldn’t figure out why at first.  Then I passed that section and entered the uncut forest where I felt perfectly fine.  I realized I was feeling the trees’ sadness.

Studies have shown that plants cry.  It’s just that the sound is too high-pitched for the human ear.  Probably dogs can hear them, but we can’t.  So, when we pick fruit or vegetables, buy or kill an animal, or take anything from Mother Earth, like natives, we need to express gratitude.

On my return trip down the mountain, I sent love and compassion to the trees.  In the months that followed, I sent love, light, strength, and resilience to the forest as I hiked.  I sent blessings of resistance to the trees.  I hoped it would help, but didn’t expect it to make any difference.  One day, I expected they would return to clear-cut again.

The last few weeks, I started seeing signs, some literal, some less so.  There is a logging operations sign, the roads have been newly graveled, and there began to be tractors parked in the woods.  Strangely, what I’m seeing is NOT clear-cutting, it’s thinning!!

I realize that this could all be coincidental, but, honestly, I don’t believe in coincidences anymore.  If you don’t believe my blessings, and those of other hikers, had any impact on the fate if the forests, I’ll understand.  I’m focused on hope.  I would rather believe that we did have an impact, a subtle but strong impact that changed the way they log their forest land.
