Do you ever feel helpless when you think about the intensity of storms, the increase in forest fires, and all the changes to our climate? I have felt that also. At the beginning of the Covid crisis, Oregon faced some of the worst forest fires in Oregon’s history. The air quality was almost unbearable. That summer, everyone was better off indoors, but I still had to walk my dog. I wore a double mask but I couldn’t get a mask on my dog. The summer’s crisis was compounded for me by a family member developing a life-threatening illness triggered by the fear and isolation required during the time of the Covid crisis.
In late August of 2021, I wanted to escape Oregon because we had been locked in from smoke in 2020. I feared the smoke would come again. But there was nowhere that seemed safer to go and my family member couldn’t safely travel due to their illness. I had to care for them so we were stuck in Eugene. I was frightened by the smoke, the fires, and being trapped, unable to leave. These things exacerbated the fear that my family member might die from their illness.
Then I remembered that I’d had good luck stopping the rain when I wanted to hike, even seeming to positively impact the temperature. So, I thought, ‘Why not try asking the wind to blow the smoke back to the fires?’ Miraculously, I tried it and it worked fairly well. Since then, we’ve never had bad air quality for more than a hunk of a day before it has significantly improved as requested.
One of my sons is a disaster prepper and he believes that the world will end due to a lack of water as lakes and reservoirs get depleted. Others who travel have told me that some lakes are significantly lower than they used to be. After talking with my son, it occurred to me that stopping the rain was the wrong way to go. What we needed was more rain. So, I began working on that. At first, I barely had any success at all.
This year I’ve focused on reducing the hottest temperatures, increasing rainfall, and sending the smoke back to the fires. An amazing thing happened. Each time I asked for cooler temperatures, cooler temperatures arrived within 10 or fewer days. We had only one day that broke triple digits. After that, it cooled down. My tomatoes weren’t happy, but the firefighters were. The other amazing thing was the rain. I called it here and to the fires three times. The first two helped contain the fires but also caused more small fires to start from the lightning. So, I asked for electric-free rain clouds. The third rain came recently, a heavy downpour, and there was only lightning twice so that was significant progress. As August ended and September began, I, again, asked for electric-free rain interspersed with several sunny days. It is currently predicted twice in the next 10 days, both times it is sandwiched between multiple sunny days.
I watched my tomatoes struggle to ripen and encouraged the heat to return. Then we had 3 days over 90. I wanted a break from the heat and we got 3 cool days in the 70’s and low 80’s. Then the heat is returning with a prediction of 5 days of 90 or higher. I didn’t want it that hot so I asked it to cool down a little bit. The end result was impressive. I regularly asked the weather to cool those days down. In the past, my success was minimal until after the ten days I could see, but this time, with practice, I had some quicker success. Today (9/4/24) was supposed to be 92 but it only reached 88. Tomorrow was predicted to be 99, then 98, and finally ended at 97. 9/6 is predicted to be 93, previously 95 and after that, it’s down to 89. So from 5 days of over 90, down to 2 days of over 90 degrees.
If I can do this, imagine what would happen if thousands of us worked on it together. I can imagine a large group working on this together, cooling the hottest temperatures, warming the coldest temperatures, encouraging more rain to fill our lakes and reservoirs, keeping the smoke with the fires, and whatever else needs to be done. Why not try to manage the fires, asking the fire to die out or stay in one place so it’s easier for the firefighters to extinguish? We could calm twisters, stop earthquakes, etc. We need to realize that the earth and weather are receptive to requests expressed with gratitude.
We need to work together. Even if you are not accomplished at weather working, trust that you are working with others like myself who are more practiced at it. Just like large groups meditating on peace show significant reductions in crime, so would a large group meditating on requesting weather changes show positive changes in the weather. I believe these efforts could eventually stop global warming which gives me hope. I hope reading this gives you hope too! There is a group all over the world meditating at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays to bring peace to Earth. We can all participate with them and add our wishes to help Mother Earth heal.
A local group, including myself, is meeting on a September 28, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 to work together to heal Mother Earth. We’ll focus specifically on the weather patterns discussed in this post. I hope you’ll join us energetically.
