Today my daughter and I went for a walk on the same route as I mentioned in my Valentine’s post.
She raced ahead of me and I walked slowly by the place we took the picture of the heart in the sidewalk. It was GONE!!! I couldn’t believe it. I searched carefully. The spot was clear because of two things: 1. the house has a nicer garden than all the others on the block. 2. the sidewalk changes texture, becoming much rockier than in other places.
When I got home, my daughter was waiting at the door. “the heart is gone!” I told her.
“Really?!” She asked, “can I go look?” She is almost 10 and it was only about 3 blocks so I told her she could. She wanted to go see for herself and make sure I hadn’t missed it somehow.
A little later she came back. “It really is gone…” She told me where she had looked and how carefully.
Today the sidewalk was comepletely solid with no holes in it of any kind, much less a heart. I sensed Shawheen in my mind, “I needed to make sure you knew I left it for you!”
“Thank you, Shawheen! It was beautiful. I am so glad I have a picture of it!”
