Young spirits like to play pranks and laugh at us in the process!
On May 24th 2017, our sugar dispenser reappeared!
It had been missing for a couple weeks. Strange, as it was always used at the kitchen table or in the kitchen. Each person in the house looked for it. We checked the table, the kitchen counters, the cupboards, the pantry, the drawers, it was no where. No one could figure out what happened to it.
Each day I took my dog for a walk, through the front yard and past our yard table and chairs, clean and empty and ready for another picnic dinner in warm weather.
At some point it dawned on me: “Shawheen if you took the sugar, please give it back!!!” Shawheen’s body died 21 months ago but his spirit lives on. I miss his physical self and I still cry for that loss, yet his spirit brings me great joy!
Today I passed that table in the front yard, clean as usual, while I went for a walk with my daughter and my dog.
Later while I was getting dinner ready, my daughter walked in with a strange look on her face, “Look what I found!!” she exclaimed, setting the sugar dispenser on the table.
“Where was it?” I asked her, astonished.
“Outside on the table!!!” she raised her voice, startled by her discovery. She suspected her dad.
Later I thought about it and knew that table had been clean earlier. I asked my husband just to make sure and he clarified that he had never used the sugar outside. Well, of course, he uses it in the morning for coffee. It is dinner which we occasionally eat outside.
“Thanks for giving us back the sugar, Shawheen!!” I thought to myself and to him.
I get this image of my son jumping up and down like a leprechaun!! This is not an image I get from his life with me but it is his goofiness saying: “I gotcha!!”
Silly spirit pranks. They love to play jokes on us!
